Julie Morton has an unusual background in the coaching world. A 25-year environmental engineer and regulatory specialist, she well knows the challenges of working within unyielding structures and systems that can discourage creativity, make employees afraid to speak up, and yield low trust and morale. Julie discovered the power of coaching in 2001 when her employer offered her the opportunity to work with a coach. Ms. Morton immediately enrolled in a coach training program and started bringing coaching to her work in corporate environments. Ms. Morton has continued to train as a coach since 2001, and has brought those skills to every position she held since. Her employer since 2002 continually put her in roles where her coaching skills were sorely in need and Julie was able (without being in a position of authority) to orchestrate and nurture the development and repair of trust between departments, contractors, regulators and consultants. In 2013 Julie left her corporate career to develop her own full-time coaching practice. She is passionate to help employees reconnect with their joy in the workplace.
Julie brings her coaching clients a unique blend of coaching skills and technical skills to help unlock their potential to succeed. Julie demonstrates her commitment to her development as a coach and to the success of her clients by continually engaging in advanced and diverse types of coach training (e.g. equine facilitated coaching and financial coaching), and coaching under the mentorship of master coaches. Julie’s diverse background also includes quality assurance (QA), management systems, and auditing. Julie’s commitment to continuously expand her coaching expertise, her technical skills, and experience in QA and development and assessment of management systems, combine synergistically to allow her to support a wide variety of clients in corporate and non-corporate environments. She helps her clients succeed in tightly structured and regulated environments with competing priorities and stakeholders. She works with her clients to reconnect with their values, and from that place teaches people how to have necessary conversations to balance their work and life needs.
Prior to establishment of her own coaching and consulting business, Ms. Morton worked for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (Trans Alaska Oil Pipeline), CH2M Hill, Federal Aviation Administration (contractor), Burlington Environmental, Hart Crowser Associates, and Metcalf & Eddy.
